Using the Line Editor
You use Contract Collector's line editor to edit the contents of data fields.
The way the line editor functions is similar to many word processors that you
may already be familiar with.
The line editor works in one of two modes — the INSERT or OVERWRITE mode. The INSERT mode inserts the data you type at the cursor position. Any existing
characters in the field are shifted to the right. The OVERWRITE mode replaces any existing data in the field character-by-character as you
type.
When you first open a user window, the default mode for the line editor is the INSERT mode. The INSERT key on your keyboard toggles the line editor between the two
modes.
If the STATUS LINE has been activated for you by the system manager, you will see the
abbreviation INS (near the right side of the STATUS LINE) when the line editor is in the Insert mode.
