Types of Menu Options
There are six main types of MENU OPTIONS — WINDOWS, SUBMENUS, PROCESSES, REPORTS, NOTICES and LABELS. Each MENU OPTION is followed by a dash and the name of the type of option. For example:
CLIENT - WINDOW
CHART OF ACCOUNTS - SUBMENU
CLOSE BATCH - PROCESS
COMPANY - REPORT
CONTRACT INVOICE - NOTICE
CONTRACT MAILING LABELS - LABELS
WINDOWS are where you enter, view and edit data. PROCESSES are used to perform specific tasks that affect your data. REPORTS, NOTICES and LABELS are used to output data in printed form in various formats. SUBMENUS appear on other menus as a way to organize subgroups of menu options.
