Starting the System

After installation, the Contract Collector icon appears in the Windows Program Manager or Windows Start Menu. To start Contract Collector, either double click on the icon or highlight it and press ENTER.

In a few seconds, the startup screen appears, followed by a window containing prompts for USER ID and PASSWORD.

Type DEMO as the USER ID. Press TAB to move the cursor to the PASSWORD prompt and type PASSWORD. (As a security feature, input into the PASSWORD prompt does not appear as you type.)

You are allowed three attempts to enter a correct USER ID and PASSWORD. If these attempts are invalid, the system takes you back to the Windows Program Manager or the Windows Desktop.

Each day, the first time a user logs on to Contract Collector, the system automatically updates its files to make sure all data in the system is current. The progress of the update process, which normally takes less than a minute, is indicated with the following pop-up: Once you are logged onto the system with the DEMO USER ID, you can use the DEMONSTRATION section of the User Manual to help you familiarize yourself with the system. You can also explore any part of the system you want, since DEMO has full access to the system.

If you have just installed a fully functional, non-demonstration version of the system, are familiar with the use of Windows and are ready to input your actual working data, turn to the PROCEDURES section of the manual and perform the INITIAL SETUP SEQUENCE.
