Installation
Comtronic Contract Collector is very easy to install on your computer. The
entire process should take less than ten minutes. You must be using an
IBM-compatible personal computer with Microsoft Windows 3.11 or later. Before you begin
the installation process, you must be running the Windows Program Manager or
Windows 95 Run command. See your Windows documentation if you have any questions
about how to start Windows and run the Program Manager or use the Run command.
Before installing Contract Collector, run a SCANDISK process to check the
integrity of your hard disk. Refer to your Windows User Manual for information on SCANDISK.
- Insert the Contract Collector CD in your computer's CD drive.
The CD contains compressed files that are uncompressed and copied onto the
hard disk in your computer.
- From the Program Manager's FILE menu or Windows 95 Start Menu, select RUN.
- In the COMMAND LINE: box, type X:\setup. (For X insert the name of your CD drive.)
- Click the OK button to continue. After a short initialization process a window will appear.
- In the INSTALLATION LOCATION window, a default of C:\CW is provided. If you accept the default, a sub-directory named CW is created on your C: drive and the files from the Contract Collector floppy disks are uncompressed
and copied into that sub-directory.
Change the default if necessary. For example, if you are installing a
multi-user version of Contract Collector, you need to change the drive identifier from C: to a network drive such as F:.
- Click on OK. The install program checks your hard disk throughout the installation
process to make sure there is enough disk space available.
- If enough disk space is available, the files on THE CD are uncompressed and copied.
